Mobile phones & Wireless Data equipment make our lives easier.

Brown County currently uses multiple communication devices that are available for eligible employees. The mobile market continues to change based on technology available. All devices are pre-approved by Technology Services to meet requirements and be within the County's guidelines. Purchasing & Technology Services work close with the current mobile communication provider to stay up to date with the newest equipment.

In accordance with the mobile communication policy, an employee must follow procedures to obtain a mobile communication device.

3. Decide best device fit - Phones & Wireless Data Equipment
4. Read & understand Administration Policy A-14
5. Submit completed & signed Request Form

Section 1 - Establish Eligibility

The following is a list of basic criteria for establishing the need for a mobile communication device. If an individual
meets one or more of these criteria, they should be considered a viable candidate for such a device.

► A requirement to travel frequently on County Business
► Large amounts of time spent away from the office
► A need for others to be in remote communication with the individual
► A need for the individual of communicate with the County while traveling
► Personal safety concerns for individuals while traveling, working evening hours, working in isolated areas or working in high crime areas
► A need to contact the individual after normal business hours
► Other circumstances where the department head feels a mobile communication device is essential for the individual

There is no doubt mobile phones & wireless data equipment make our daily tasks easier.

Standard, Advanced / Smart Phones and/or Wireless Data Equipment are offered to meet the needs of the eligible Brown County employee.

All Android, iPhone and Wireless Data Equipment is pre-approved by Technology Services to assure guidelines, policies and procedures are followed.

All new mobile phones include a set of ear buds and wall charger.

In addition the user will be able to select one (1) free accessory for the standard or android phone to include a phone case, car charger or additional wall charger up to a $30.00 value. The iPhone will come with the user’s choice of phone case only, up to a $30.00 value. In addition, the option for the department to choose an additional accessory at ½ off the retail and up to a $30.00 value.

Signatures

The employee must sign and obtain a signature from their immediate supervisor or department head. By signing the request form the employee agrees that he/she understands and the Policy and the supervisor or department head have authorized the department expense.

Purchasing will submit request for all standard Mobile device requests directly to Cellcom and all smartphones and MiFi’s will be forwarded to Technology Services.

Device Delivery
*
The mobile device will be delivered directly to the requesting department by either Cellcom or by Technology Services. Initial usage training will be provided upon delivery.
