TRANSFER OR REMOVAL OF BROWN COUNTY PROPERTY

This policy ensurers the safe, fair, efficient and economical removal of Brown County property that is no longer needed. The policy supports Brown County's green initiative by utilizing Reuse/Recycle/Reduce practices. Property is defined as anything under the ownership of Brown County, including but not limited to: land, buildings, vehilcles, museum artifiacts, office equipment, and any other item(s) determined as property by the department head.

If the item(s) remain unwanted; the next options is to offer the item(s) to other Brown County departments as follows:


Responsibilities of Disposing Department:

Publish the property details, description and pictures (if available) on the County's Property Bulletin Board

Responsibilities of Interested Department:

The interested department must contact and work directly with the Disposing department. Any compensation for the Property must be worked out between the two departments. (if applicable)

Step 3. Selling Unneeded Property Outside Brown County & it's Departments

If the item(s) still remain unwanted; the next option is to offer the item(s) to the Public.


Responsibilities of Disposing Department

1. Complete the 'Removal of Brown County Property' Form

Item(s) detailed description to include:

make, model, year, serial or vin#, color, construction material, mileage or hours, engine size dimentsions, accessories and any addditional features.

3. Forward COMPLETED form to Purchasing Department via email:
BC_Administration_Purchasing@co.brown.wi.us

4. During Auctions time the potential buyer will contact the Disposing Department's listed contact. The contact is responsible to schedule appointment times with the potential buyers

5. At the time of Sale it is the Disposing Department's Responsiblity to issue a Bill of Sale at the time of pick up

Purchasing Department Responsiblity:
*
Purchasing will publish the item(s) on a variety of governmental websites and if successful the proceeds are provided to the selling department.

Step 4. Unsucessful Disposal

If the item(s) your department has completed Step 1-3 above, item(s), the item(s) can be donated to another public sector or nonprofit agency.
